Are You Ready? The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction is seeking a board‑eligible or board‑certified psychiatrist to work part‑time or full‑time on site at the Correctional Reception Center. The selected psychiatrist will treat a caseload of male patients alongside another psychiatrist and psychiatric‑mental health nurse practitioners as part of a multi‑disciplinary treatment team. Clinical support will be provided by a central advanced practice provider leadership team, including a state psychiatry director and assistant state psychiatry director.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with intra‑ and inter‑departmental staff to administer treatment for behavioral health patients using nationally recognized treatment standards and documenting via an electronic health record system.
• Conduct examinations, write evaluations and reports.
• Order and interpret diagnostic testing.
• Manage medication.
• Make referrals for specialized care or treatment.
• Perform duties in accordance with scope of practice, ODRC policies, procedures, protocols, and American Correctional Association standards.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement meetings and activities, including peer reviews.
• Provide or share responsibilities of institutional 24‑hour on‑call as needed (on‑call services are part of normal duties and do not earn extra compensation).
• Engage in collaborative agreements, as needed.
