Renown Health seeks a Physician-Academic Psychiatrist in Reno, NV, to provide clinical care and education. As a Physician-Academic Psychiatrist, the employee provides clinical care either directly or through supervision of residents/fellows in both outpatient and inpatient settings. The employee may deliver clinical care and supervision to patients within their scope of practice and licensure, which may include children, adolescents, or adults. This position is responsible for evaluating patients and delivering psychiatric services (therapy, somatic, and psychosocial interventions) to individuals, couples, families, and groups within regulatory and/or accrediting guidelines. The employee also provides clinical teaching, didactic teaching, and administrative duties as defined by the role.

The incumbent obtains patient history, examines, diagnoses, counsels, and treats within their specialty and experience. Responsibilities include making critical medical decisions, collaborating with management staff, and following administrative policies. The role involves clinical teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows, active participation in governance, and staying current with medical advances through education and research. Teaching and administrative duties are aligned with the affiliation with the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine.

Education: MD or DO degree, or foreign equivalent (MBBS, MBChB). Must have proficiency in English.
Experience: Prior experience in the specialty is preferred.
Licenses: Valid Nevada MD or DO license, Controlled Substance License, and DEA registration are required.
Certifications: Board-Eligible or Board-Certified in Psychiatry (General and Child & Adolescent) by ABPN. Certification must be obtained within two years if eligible at hire. BLS or ACLS certification required, preferably from AHA or equivalent.
Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, online learning, and credentialing processes.
