Job description

Academic Hospital in Greater NYC Seeking a Chief of Primary Care to oversee a department at an academic health center. This is a full-time permanent position with hospital benefits, malpractice coverage, and eligibility for student loan forgiveness.

Job Function: The organization has three separate clinics, and this role would be the site director for one location. The site directors for the other two locations would report to this person. The role includes 40% protected administrative time. The individual is not expected to cover the other locations but should be accessible to leadership for questions.

Responsibilities: Oversee a large primary care clinic with 15,000 annual visits, supervise 7-10 providers, and see 16-20 patients per day when clinically active. The environment is strongly academic, involving medical students, externs, and residency programs, with residency teaching being an essential part of the role.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-4 or 9-5, with no evenings or overnight shifts. The clinic uses the EPIC EMR system.
