Job summary

UCHealth-affiliated Pueblo Pathology Group in Pueblo, Colorado, seeks an AP/CP board-certified pathologist to join our hospital-based, physician-owned practice. You will diagnose a broad range of surgical pathology and non-gyn cytology, perform frozen sections, clinical pathology duties, and participate in tumor boards, with a 40-50 hour work week and opportunities to become a full partner after one year.

Qualifications

• MD, DO, or equivalent.
• Board-certified or eligible in AP/CP by the American Board of Pathology.
• Hold or eligible to obtain unrestricted medical licensure in Colorado.

• Ability to fulfill clinical laboratory medical directorship duties.
• A commitment to working effectively with medical staff members, laboratory personnel, and hospital administration to provide best patient care.

Job description

AP/CP Board Certified Pathologist

Pueblo Pathology Group is seeking an AP/CP board-certified pathologist with strong general surgical pathology skills to join our hospital-based, physician-owned pathology group . Our group has partnered with Parkview Medical Center (300-bed hospital) for over 50 years, provid ing pathology services and laboratory medical directorship . In 2023, Parkview Medical Center joined the UCHealth hospital system , which has increased practice stability and opportunities for collaboration.

Responsibilities include diagnosing a broad range of surgical pathology and non-gyn cytology cases, frozen sections/rapid evaluations, clinical pathology services, rotating call , and rotating tumor board p resenta tion .

Pueblo is a diverse and growing community of around 150,000 people with easy access to a variety of mountain and water activities, as well as urban amenities (40 miles from Colorado Springs and 100 miles from Denver).

Practice Details :

• Full-service histology laboratory, including pathology assistant
• ~12,000 surgical cases/yr
• ~1450 non-gyn cytology cases/yr
• 2-4 frozen section/rapid evaluation cases/day
• <10 non-forensic autopsies/yr
• Daily sharing of challenging cases with colleagues
• 40 to 50-hour work week

Requirements:

• MD, DO, or equivalent
• Board-certified or eligible in AP/CP by the American Board of Pathology
