Job summary

Med Source Consultants seeks a Physician – Internal Medicine with Hematology and Oncology specialization for a locum tenens assignment in Seattle, WA. The role supports outpatient oncology care with weekend responsibilities and a collaborative clinic environment.

Schedule consists of four 10-hour shifts Mon–Thu, with a daily unpaid lunch break. Credentialing takes 60–90 days; housing support is available, and malpractice coverage is included.

Qualifications

• Board certification in Hematology/Oncology is required.
• Active Washington State license or IMLC is required.
• Active DEA license and BLS certification are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide full-time outpatient Hematology/Oncology coverage with occasional inpatient weekend call.
• Attend to approximately 11 patient encounters per shift during four 10-hour workdays (Mon–Thu, 7:00 am–5:00 pm).
• Participate in shared 24-hour weekend beeper call pool for inpatients within the oncology service.

This facility is a premier cancer institute offering comprehensive oncology services to patients across the Pacific Northwest. The department consists of 17 beds and operates as a well-established outpatient clinic with a collaborative team of 15-20 oncology providers, ensuring strong collegial support and a well-structured call pool.

Job Details

• Full-time outpatient Hematology Oncology coverage with occasional inpatient weekend call responsibilities
• Providers will be scheduled for four 10-hour shifts per week, Monday through Thursday, 7:00 am – 5:00 pm
• Clinic is closed daily from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm for an unpaid lunch break
• 11 patient encounters per shift
• On-call responsibilities include weeknight beeper call 1-2 nights per week for established Hem/Onc clinic patients
• Providers will participate in a shared 24-hour weekend beeper call pool for oncology inpatients, shared among 15-20 total providers resulting in very few weekend call obligations per year
• Minimum commitment of 4 weeks per month required; full-time continuous coverage is required – schedules of 2 weeks on/2 weeks off are not accepted
• Active Washington State license or active IMLC required
• Board certification required (BC only)
• Active DEA required
• BLS certification required
• Estimated credentialing timeframe is 60-90 days
• Vital coverage need begins October 1, 2026, though earlier start possible if privileges are issued sooner
• Long-term housing support available with pre-approval required; budget up to $4,000 per month
