Job summary

Apicha Community Health Center in New York, NY is seeking a Primary Care Physician to join our Manhattan clinic. This full-time role emphasizes comprehensive primary care and preventive services in a diverse patient population.

You will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, participate in quality improvement, and provide culturally competent care. An MD/DO with board eligibility and NYS license is required; Spanish or SE Asian language skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree and board eligibility/certification.
• Residency in internal medicine or family medicine completed.
• Current NYS license and DEA certificate.
• BLS and infection control certificates up to date.
• Spanish or SE Asian language skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical care to adults on a continuing basis.
• Evaluate and manage acute and chronic conditions.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests using evidence-based medicine.
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation and billing.
• Participate in night and weekend on-call rotations.

We are currently seeking a Primary Care Physician to work at our Manhattan.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical care to a panel of patients on a continuing basis including but not limited to
  • Evaluation and management of acute and chronic medical conditions for adults
  • Advising patients on treatment recommendations, lifestyle modifications, and age-appropriate preventive screenings
  • Ordering and analyzing necessary diagnostic tests using high value care principles and EBM to inform clinical decision-makingoPrescribing appropriate treatment and/or medication in an evidence‑based manner and within the scope of licensure
  • Referring patients for consultant services when necessary
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records about each patient, including observations during examinations
• Complete EMR documentation, billing, and patient‑related paperwork in a timely manner, we use ECW
• Comfort working with diverse populations including recent immigrants to the United States
• Participate in night and weekend call shared among clinicians
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team
• Attend and participate in clinic, provider, and all staff meetings
• Participate in pre‑visit planning activities with the other members of the care team
• Participate in center wide and clinic‑specific quality improvement projects and PEER Review
• Participate in appropriate certification/maintenance of certification and continuing medical education activities
• Maintain updated license and DEA
• Work continually to assure deliverance of quality clinical care in a safe, efficient, competent, and effective manner
• Comply with all laws applicable to the practice of your specialty including HIPAA and mandated reporting
• Perform other duties as required or assigned

Qualifications

• Must have an MD or DO degree & board eligible/certified.
• Successful completion of an accredited residency training program in internal medicine or family medicine
• BC/BE in specialty
• Current and valid NYS license
• Current DEA certificate
• Updated BLS and infection control certificate
• Proficiency in Spanish or an South east Asian language is preferred
• Working knowledge of primary HIV medical care and LGBTQI care is a plus
