Primary Responsibilities

• Obtain health history and perform physical examinations
• Request and evaluate lab tests
• Diagnose, direct treatment, and instruct staff in implementing care
• Prescribe medication according to state statutes and professional guidelines
• Arrange referrals for services not offered within the practice
• Educate patients and families on medication and treatment instructions
• Document all activities, interventions, patient responses, and medications
• Supervise mid-level practitioners (PA and NP)
• Perform patient procedures per protocols
• Maintain Continuing Medical Education (CME) hours

Requirements

The Physician must hold an M.D. or D.O. degree, have completed residency, and be Board Eligible or Certified, with a current TN Medical License, DEA certificate, malpractice insurance, and authority to provide medical services to various insurers and organizations.
