Job summary

Cooper University Health Care invites a dedicated Family Practice Physician to join our Cooper Care Alliance team in New Jersey. The role focuses on comprehensive, patient-centered primary care across all ages in an outpatient setting.

The ideal candidate provides preventive care, chronic/acute condition management, and collaborates with nurses, behavioral health, and specialists. MD/DO, NJ license, and board eligibility/certification are required.

Qualifications

• Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
• Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Family Medicine.
• Active and unrestricted NJ medical license.
• DEA license and current BLS/ACLS certification.
• Experience in ambulatory/outpatient care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality primary care to a diverse patient population.
• Conduct physical exams and diagnose/treat illnesses.
• Develop and manage treatment plans including referrals.
• Prescribe medications and coordinate referrals.
• Promote preventive care and patient education.
• Maintain accurate EHR documentation and participate in QA.

Short Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based primary care to a diverse patient population.
• Conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret diagnostic tests.
• Develop and manage treatment plans, including prescribing medications and coordinating referrals.
• Promote preventive care and health education to patients and families.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nurses, medical assistants, behavioral health, and specialists.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical meetings.
• Adhere to organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

Education Requirements

Medical Degree (MD or DO)from an accredited institution.

Experience Required

Experience in an ambulatory or outpatient care setting preferred.

Experience with electronic health records (e.g., Epic).

License/Certification Requirements

• Board Certification or Board Eligibilityin Family Medicine.
• Active and unrestricted medical licensein the state of NJ.
• DEA licenseand current BLS/ACLS certification.

Special Requirements

• Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus.
• Interest in population health, quality improvement, or teaching.
