Valley-Wide Health Systems, Inc. in southern Colorado seeks a Primary Care/Family Practice Physician to deliver comprehensive, evidence-based care across the lifespan within an integrated team.

You will provide patient-centered care, collaborate with APPs and staff, and participate in ongoing quality initiatives to improve population health and access in rural communities.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO with residency in Family Medicine.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine.
  • Current Colorado medical license.
  • Current Colorado DEA registration.
  • BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications as required by credentialing policies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive primary and preventive medical care to patients of all ages.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic conditions within family medicine.
  • Prescribe medications per Colorado law and guidelines.
  • Oversee and coordinate care with nurses, APPs, and other clinicians.
  • Maintain documentation in the EHR within required timeframes.
  • Precept medical students and residents; participate in quality initiatives.

Join Our Team at Valley-Wide Health Systems, Inc.Valley-Wide Health Systems is seeking a Primary Care Physician/Family Practice Physician to provide comprehensive, high-quality primary and preventive care to patients across the lifespan. This position works as part of an integrated care team serving rural communities in southern Colorado and may include OB, inpatient, and after-hours call responsibilities based on scope of practice and organizational needs.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive primary and preventive medical care to patients of all agesEvaluate, diagnose, and treat a broad range of acute and chronic health conditions within the scope of family medicinePrescribe medications in accordance with Colorado law and professional practice guidelinesProvide patient-centered care in collaboration with clinical and support staffComplete patient documentation and required charting in the electronic health record within established timeframesCoordinate patient care, population health activities, referrals, and other clinical follow-upProvide oversight and supervision of advanced practice providers as assigned and in accordance with applicable regulationsParticipate in Peer Review, Quality Improvement/Quality Assurance activities, provider meetings, and other clinical initiativesPrecept medical students, residents, and other learners from approved programsAcquire and maintain applicable hospital privileges and participate in inpatient and after-hours call services as designatedMaintain nursing home privileges when required to support continuity of care for Valley-Wide patientsCollaborate with local hospitals, healthcare organizations, community agencies, and other medical professionals to support coordinated patient careMaintain compliance with Valley-Wide policies and applicable state and federal regulationsRequirementsMD or DO with successful completion of an accredited Family Medicine residency programBoard Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine through the American Board of Family Medicine or American Osteopathic Board of Family PhysiciansBoard certification examination must be completed within one year, if applicableCurrent or eligible Colorado medical licenseCurrent DEA registration valid in ColoradoCurrent BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications as required by Valley-Wide credentialing policiesPrevious clinical experience preferredStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work collaboratively as part of an integrated healthcare teamCommitment to providing high-quality care to rural and medically underserved populationsBilingual English/Spanish skills preferredWhy Join Valley-Wide?Valley-Wide Health Systems, Inc. is dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centered healthcare to all individuals across our multi-county service area in southern Colorado.
