Job summary

Peachtree Orthopedics seeks a part-time Physical Therapy Tech in Atlanta to support therapists and patients throughout treatment sessions. You will assist with patient positioning, routine procedures and equipment, ensuring a safe and efficient environment.

The role requires a degree or related experience; BLS certification is expected. You will collaborate with the Physical Therapy department and contribute to patient care and workflow excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• American Heart Association BLS Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients to dress/undress and apply/remove braces, splints or slings.
• Secure patients into therapy equipment and support positioning.
• Motivate and assist patients with exercises under staff supervision.
• Assist provider with hydrotherapy, hot/cold packs and paraffin bath.
• Transport patients to and from treatment areas.
• Maintain clean work area and equipment after treatments.
• Record treatments performed and equipment used.
• Inventory and requisition supplies and equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Summary

The Physical Therapy Tech assists physical therapy patients and prepare patients for physical therapy treatments by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist patients to dress, undress, and put on and remove supportive devices such as braces, splints, and slings, before and after treatments.
• Secure patients into or onto therapy equipment.
• Safeguard, motivate, and assist patients practicing exercises and functional activities under direction of professional staff.
• Assist Therapy Provider with routine treatments such as hydrotherapy, hot and cold packs, and paraffin bath.
• Transport patients to and from treatment area.
• Clean work area and equipment after treatment.
• Record treatment given and equipment used.
• Inventory and requisition supplies and equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferred; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This position requires regular standing, reaching, handling, talking, and hearing, as well as frequent walking and sitting. Employees may occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
