Job summary

SVMC in Vermont is seeking a physical therapy team leader who thrives on both leading people and treating patients in a split role, guiding a talented therapy team while delivering hands-on care.

Under the Director of Rehabilitation Services, you will oversee day-to-day operations, ensure cost-effective staffing, and drive quality improvement, while evaluating and documenting treatment plans for patients of all ages.

Qualifications

• MS degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.
• DPT required for new grads.
• Vermont State license to practice physical therapy required on hire.
• BLS within 90 days of hire and CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the day-to-day operations of the Physical Therapy Service.
• Oversee staffing to meet patient care needs and outcomes.
• Implement policies, procedures, and continuous quality improvement.
• Empower the PT team and supervise PTAs and students.
• Evaluate, develop, implement, and document plans of treatment for patients of all ages.

SVMC is seeking a physical therapy team leader who thrives on both leading people and treating patients. In this split role you’ll guide a talented therapy team while delivering hands-on care.

Under the guidance of the Director of Rehabilitation services, you will provide leadership and supervision of the day to day operations of the Physical Therapy Service. The team leader will assure cost-effective staffing patterns that meet patient care needs, achieve patient satisfaction and result in the best possible clinical outcomes. They oversee implementation of policies/procedures/standards, continuous quality improvement and the empowerment of the PT team.

As an outpatient physical therapist in this split role, you will be responsible for a reduced case load. You will be responsible for evaluating, developing, implementing, and documenting a plan of treatment for patients of all ages. You’ll work with individuals of all ages and conditions, from post-surgical athletes eager to get back on the field to older adults striving to maintain mobility and independence. Your expertise will directly improve quality of life, empower patients to take charge of their health, and strengthen the fabric of our community.

Candidates may choose to work at our main outpatient clinic and/or one of our satellite locations (Deerfield Valley Health Center in Wilmington, VT, Northshire Medical Center in Manchester, VT or Twin Rivers in Hoosick Falls, NY), in their clinical role. A weekend fair turn commitment in our inpatient department is required. In addition, this position has the opportunity to supervise physical therapist assistants and students. We encourage therapists to apply who may be seeking an alternative working schedule as SVMC is willing to be flexible with scheduling and accommodating to varying hours.

Requirements: MS degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school required. DPT is required for new grads. Prior physical therapy experience required for this position with advanced skills in outpatient or inpatient rehabilitation. A Vermont State license to practice physical therapy is required on hire. Health Care Provider BLS within 90 days of hire and current CPR certification required.

SVMC rehabilitation is proud to offer services at our main hospital campus and our satellite offices (Northshire Medical Center, Deerfield Valley Health Center, Twin Rivers Medical, Orthopedic Hand Clinic). The rehabilitation program services patients of all ages with many specialty rehab services available, including but not limited to, vestibular therapy, hand therapy and lymphedema therapy. We are also home to Cardiac Rehabilitation and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
