Job summary

hughstonga is seeking a Physical Therapy Department Manager to oversee daily operations of the PT department in Columbus, GA. You will ensure billing, documentation, and regulatory compliance while directing staff and coordinating budgets.

The role requires a PT/PTA credential with licensure, BLS, and strong leadership and communication skills. Experience supervising in healthcare is preferred; expected start is flexible as per the org’s schedules.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience as a Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant.
• Two (2) years supervisory experience in health care setting preferred.
• Must graduate from accredited PT/PTA program.
• Must have current state License in PT or PTA and maintain BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Review PT workflow and processes to ensure daily billing and documentation.
• Provide oversight for development, direction and coordination of all PT staff.
• Update PT policies and procedures.
• Develop and maintain departmental budgets; report variances monthly.
• Maintain PT regulatory guidelines and standards.
• Manage PT inventory, including supply orders, invoices and vendor communications.
• Assist staff/physicians in brace fitting and patient-specific needs.
• Ensure Medicare compliant rehab services and proper billing.
• Plan and administer prescribed PT treatments; educate patients and families.
• Conduct staff meetings and serve as education resource for therapy team.
