An established healthcare center is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant to join their team. In this role, you will treat patients under the guidance of a Physical Therapist, ensuring high standards of care are maintained. Your responsibilities will include documenting treatment notes, assisting in patient rehabilitation, and supporting nursing staff with training. Treat patients under the direction of a Physical Therapist. Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes in accordance with PT Board standards. Assist in maintaining the department and participate in patient care and rehabilitation conferences as needed. Help with cleaning and maintenance of the treatment area. Follow physician treatment plans for patient care. Support the nursing department with training Restorative Aides. Communicate patient progress, issues, and plans with supervisors and healthcare team members. Participate in staff training programs. Record treatment changes as per policy and procedures. Educate patients' families or nursing staff on maintenance programs and caregiver training in preparation for discharge. Report equipment issues to ensure proper maintenance. Demonstrate positive, effective communication with patients, families, staff, and colleagues.
This position is non-supervisory.
Requires standing and walking frequently, sitting occasionally, reaching, pushing, pulling, talking, hearing, tasting, smelling, and exerting force over 20 pounds regularly. Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Visual acuity to perceive colors, depth, and focus.
Typically low to moderate noise levels. Accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities.
