Position: Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) - Full-time

Service Area: South Hills, including Downtown Pittsburgh, Mt. Washington, and Greentree

Position Summary

The Certified Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) provides physical therapy treatments under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist (LPT) to patients in their homes, as prescribed by the physician.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PTA program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association
• Certified as a PTA with an active license in Pennsylvania
• Minimum of 2,000 hours of physical therapy-related experience, signed off by a supervising LPT
• Worked at least three of the previous five years in therapy, with notarized documentation and a resume
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and sufficient insurance coverage for home visits

Responsibilities

• Make home visits as per the physician’s plan of care
• Implement therapy programs established by the LPT to prevent disability, relieve pain, and restore function and independence
• Assist in patient education and discharge planning
• Complete and maintain documentation of services provided, reviewed by the LPT for compliance
