Qualifications

Graduation from an approved Physical Therapy Assistant or Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
Equivalency exam and California licensure/eligibility as PTA.
Eligibility for NBC certification as OTA.
California License, or eligibility, to practice Occupational Therapy.
Licensed PTA or licensed OTA in California.
Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

Implements patient treatment programs developed by the therapist and guides exercises.
Provides objective feedback on patient and caregiver performance toward recovery.
Collaborates with supervising therapist toward therapy goals.
Maintains strong observation, communication, and compassionate care.
Ensures treatment aligns with department guidelines and adjusts as needed.
