Job description

Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for our Acute Care Therapy department who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

As a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) you will:

1. Assist staff with treatments under the direct supervision of a licensed therapist.
2. Provide clerical support and maintain supplies and equipment under the direction of the immediate supervisor, clinic coordinator, manager or Director and clinical staff.
3. Prepare and clean-up patient treatment sessions.

Qualifications include:

1. Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
2. Maryland Physical Therapy Assistant Licensure.
3. Minimum of one year’s experience in fitness, hospital therapy, or other similar patient care area.
4. Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Work Schedule:

• Per diem commitment of 2 weekend days per month plus rotating into the holiday schedule.
• Hospital Orientation requirement of 3 full days (Monday, Tuesday, Tuesday).
• Upon hire, be available to work at least five (5) weekdays to complete department-specific orientation and training. Preferably 5 consecutive days but otherwise within 2 weeks.

Shift hours are 8:00 am-4:30 pm.

Pay Range: $25.63 - $35.89

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount or if the position is Per Diem (offering a fixed rate), salary discussions will occur during the screening process.
