Duties of an exceptional Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) include:

  • Follow the plan of care set out by the supervising physical therapist
  • Measure & record resident’s motor function, strength, and muscle performance.
  • Observe and document on resident performance.
  • Treat residents with varieties of techniques, like stretching and massage, assist residents in carrying out specific exercises.
  • Maintain Resident confidence by keeping information confidential.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements.
  • Maintain a cooperative relationship among healthcare team members & contribute to team effort

PTA Requirements Include:

  • A graduate of an accredited PTA Program
  • Current New York State Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) License
