Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital – Weirton is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to provide patient-focused therapy in a post-ICU setting. This per diem/as-needed role offers $33.00 per hour and flexible scheduling at Select Specialty Hospital.

You will assist with therapy delivery, carry out plans under a PT, and help patients improve mobility, balance, and functional skills in a compassionate, team-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Valid state PTA license valid at start date.
• BLS certification required by start date.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the delivery of physical therapy services including transportation, therapeutic exercises and functional activities.
• Implement treatment goals, plans, and programs as established by the physical therapist.
• Assist the PT in carrying out therapeutic interventions to meet long-term goals: strengthening, balance, posture, endurance, and re-entry training.
• Train patients in locomotion using orthotics, prosthetics or assistive devices.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the delivery of physical therapy services including transportation, therapeutic exercises and functional activities
• Implement treatment goals, plans, and programs as established by the physical therapist (PT)
• Assist the PT in carrying out therapeutic interventions designed to meet the patients’ long-term goals, including strengthening, coordination and balance exercises; posture, endurance/cardiac, functional skills and community re-entry training; joint mobility and muscle lengthening and pain relief
• Train patients in locomotion using orthotics, prosthetics or assistive devices

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Valid state PTA license
• Possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date.
