Job Summary

Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, the Physical Therapy Assistant administers rehabilitative techniques to develop, maintain, or restore function affected by age, trauma, disease, or other conditions.

Essential Functions
  1. Planning
  • Assist in evaluating treatment effectiveness and modify plans as needed.
  • Identify and prioritize functional limitations.
  • Set realistic long-term and short-term goals aligned with patient needs.
  • Determine appropriate treatment techniques and outline intervention plans.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and assist in discharge planning.
  • Treatment
    • Implement treatment methods based on patient needs under supervision.
    • Focus on posture, balance, strength, endurance, and mobility.
    • Ensure safe application of modalities and exercises, adjusting as necessary.
  • Education
    • Provide education to promote recovery and functional improvement, tailored to the patient's background.
  • Documentation
    • Accurately document all patient care activities, responses, and progress in a timely manner, maintaining confidentiality.
  • Professionalism
    • Maintain professional judgment, adhere to laws and policies, and foster effective relationships with patients and colleagues.
    Qualifications
    • Associate Degree in Physical Therapy required.
