Job description

Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) - Palm Valley Post Acute (Healthcare)

We understand the demands of a therapist in skilled nursing and want our therapists to have more time to focus on patient care.

Pay: $34-$38 per hour +/ DOE

Responsibilities include:

  1. Treat patients as directed by Physical Therapist.
  2. Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes per PT Board.
  3. Assist in maintaining the department.
  4. Participate in Patient Care and Rehabilitation Conferences, as needed.
  5. Assist with cleaning and maintenance of treatment area.
  6. Treat patients according to the physician treatment plan.
  7. Assist nursing staff with training Restorative Aides.
  8. Communicate with supervisors and team members regarding patient progress and plans.
  9. Participate in staff training programs.
  10. Record treatment changes per policies and procedures.
  11. Instruct patients' families or nursing staff in maintenance and caregiver training for discharge.
  12. Report equipment issues to ensure proper maintenance.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed as a Staff Physical Therapy Assistant in the state.
  • Proficient in computer skills (e.g., Casamba, Point Click Care).
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical and policy manuals.
  • Effective communication skills with patients, families, and staff.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
  • Practical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret instructions in various formats.

Licensing: Must be licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant and maintain licensure in good standing.

Physical Demands: Frequent standing, walking, reaching, talking, and sensory activities; occasional lifting and physical exertion.

Work Environment: Low to moderate noise levels; accommodations available for disabilities.
