A leading healthcare facility in Edmond seeks a dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant to support rehabilitation efforts under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist. The role emphasizes patient care through movement and therapeutic applications, requiring specific licensure and BLS certification. Ideal candidates will have experience in hospital or outpatient settings.
The Physical Therapy Assistant provides a medically prescribed physical therapy plan of care under the supervision of a physical therapist. After the physical therapist has completed the initial evaluation, established functional goals and developed an individualized plan of care, the physical therapist assistant provides preventative instruction and rehabilitation of acute or prolonged dysfunction or pain with an emphasis on movement; therapeutic application or physical and chemical agents; exercise and other procedures to maximize functional independence.
Graduate of a Physical Therapist Assistant Program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Physical Therapy Education. Current Oklahoma Physical Therapist Assistant licensure and Form 5 Supervisor Confirmation required. (A temporary letter pending licensure results may be approved by Administration.) Must possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
Hospital or outpatient experience. Experience in either acute care, hospital or outpatient orthopedics.
