Job summary

Inova Specialty Hospital in Alexandria, VA is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for a full-time role. You will assist with delivering PT services, guide patients through therapeutic exercises and functional activities, and support treatment goals set by the physical therapist.

Qualifications

• Valid state PTA license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date.

Responsibilities

• Assist with delivery of physical therapy services including transportation, therapeutic exercises and functional activities.
• Implement treatment goals and plans established by the PT.
• Assist the PT with interventions to improve strength, coordination, balance, posture, endurance and pain relief.
• Train patients in locomotion using assistive devices.

• Assist with the delivery of physical therapy services including transportation, therapeutic exercises and functional activities
• Implement treatment goals, plans, and programs as established by the physical therapist (PT)
• Assist the PT in carrying out therapeutic interventions designed to meet the patients’ long-term goals, including strengthening, coordination and balance exercises; posture, endurance/cardiac, functional skills and community re-entry training; joint mobility and muscle lengthening and pain relief
• Train patients in locomotion using orthotics, prosthetics or assistive devices

Minimum Qualifications

• Valid state PTA license
• Possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date.
