Job description

Overview

Implements the plan of care as provided by the physical therapist, treating patients of all ages. Serves as a role model in delivering professional services and as a clinical resource for staff and students. Must be able to work in both inpatient and outpatient settings with department orientation.

Responsibilities

1. Educates patients, family, caregivers, students, and other healthcare providers using relevant and effective teaching methods.
2. Follows the therapist's plan of care and adjusts treatment based on patient response and available evidence, after communicating with the evaluating therapist and documenting in the daily note.
3. Produces documentation in accordance with accepted practice standards.
4. Provides treatment interventions including therapeutic exercise, gait and balance training, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and aquatic therapy.
5. Completes daily documentation and charging in therapy EMR.
6. Coordinates with PT on patient treatment interventions.
7. Communicates with referring providers on patient progress and treatment recommendations.

Qualifications

License/Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA); Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) Education: Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant (Required) Other Knowledge/Skills:

Salary Range

The compensation range for this position is $22.40 per hour - $37.41 per hour. Actual compensation will depend on experience, qualifications, location, licenses, shifts, and the compensation model.
