Position Details

Title: Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)

Coverage Area: Kane County / Elgin

Compensation: $55-$60 per visit

Shift: Full-time, Monday - Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM (flexible)

Summary

The Physical Therapy Assistant (“PTA”) provides physical therapy services to patients under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist. The PTA collaborates with the care team, including physicians and other healthcare professionals, to deliver effective patient care.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Assist the physical therapist in implementing care plans.
  • Prepare clinical and progress notes; assist in developing and revising treatment plans.
  • Perform physical therapy services as per the care plan and physician orders.
  • Consult with the physical therapist regarding treatment adjustments.
  • Instruct patients and caregivers on in-home programs and activities of daily living.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary case conferences for patient updates and discharge planning.
  • Advise and consult with agency personnel and patient families/caregivers.
  • Coordinate weekly visit schedules with the supervising physical therapist and care team.
Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of experience as a physical therapy assistant, preferably in acute or post-acute care settings.
  • Active state licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
  • Valid CPR certification.
  • Valid driver’s license.
