Join our team as a Day Shift, Regular Part Time, Physical Therapy Assistant at INTEGRIS Health Canadian Valley Hospital in Yukon, Oklahoma.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patient performance commensurate with their training and qualifications. Recommend equipment or alterations to architectural barriers to the therapist of record for their respective discipline.
  • Act as clinical instructor and/or assist with orientation of new employees or volunteers.
  • Responsible for therapeutic exercise, functional training related to physical movement and mobility in self‑care, home management, community and work, manual therapy techniques, prescription, application, and fabrication of devices and equipment, airway clearance techniques, wound management, and electro‑therapeutic modalities.
  • Educate persons served and other stakeholders.
  • Communicate and document treatment and appropriate charges per policy and procedure.
  • Demonstrate time management skills, offer assistance to other therapist staff if caseload is unbalanced, respect authority decisions, and assist in planning, implementing and evaluating department performance.
  • Report to the therapist delegating a patient and the assigned Manager Director.
  • Position may have additional or varied physical demands and/or respiratory fit test requirements. Consult the Physical Demands Project SharePoint site or contact Risk Management/Employee Health for information.
  • Exposure to moderate hazards including potential infections, blood and body fluids, mechanical and electrical equipment, chemicals, sharp equipment, etc.
  • Potential for bodily injury due to lifting and cumulative stress.
  • Potential for workplace violence.
  • Follow universal safety precautions.
  • Frequently exposed to hydrocollator, oven, stove, microwave, heat gun depending on venue of care.
  • May be exposed to constant interruptions, noise, odors, chemicals.
  • Must cope with high caseloads and multiple demands.
  • May float to other units; may need on‑call status, weekend work, or flexible schedule.
  • Required to work with wheelchairs, walkers, and other rehab equipment daily.
  • Frequent exposure to grease, tools, equipment with sharp edges, lifting equipment.
  • Aquatics exposures: pool chemicals, heat and humidity.
  • Community re‑entry/Home evaluations: exposure to traffic, weather while riding or driving with patients.
  • Potential for high stress, accidents involving property damage, injury, death, weather extremes.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree from an accredited school or university.
  • Current Oklahoma Physical Therapy Assistant license.
  • PTA (Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant) or Temporary PTA.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written).
