A healthcare facility in Waverly is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to provide treatment and rehabilitation support for patients. The role involves recording treatment notes, assisting with staff training, and ensuring patient care continuity while adhering to state regulations and departmental standards. Candidates must be licensed and possess strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) (Healthcare)
Treat patients as directed by a Physical Therapist. Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes per PT Board standards. Assist in maintaining the department and participate in Patient Care and Rehabilitation Conferences as needed. Help with cleaning and maintenance of the treatment area. Follow physician treatment plans when treating patients. Assist the nursing department with training Restorative Aides. Communicate with supervisors and other health team members regarding patient progress, problems, and plans. Participate in in-service training programs for staff. Record treatment changes according to policies and procedures. Instruct patients’ families or nursing staff in maintenance programs and caregiver training for discharge preparation. Report equipment problems to ensure maintenance. Demonstrate positive, effective, and appropriate interactions with patients/residents, families, staff, and colleagues.
This position is non-supervisory.
Frequent standing, walking, reaching, pushing, pulling, talking, and hearing. Occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Ability to exert significant force and good vision including focus adjustments.
