Access Nursecare, Inc. provides Medicare-certified home health services across Miami-Dade and Broward counties. We are seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to work under a physical therapist, delivering care in patients' homes and following physician plans of care.

The role requires PTA licensure in Florida, CPR certification, and a valid driver’s license with insurance. You will participate in team meetings and ensure accurate clinical documentation as part of ongoing home health care.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited PTA program with an Associate's degree approved by the APTA.
  • Current state license/certification as required by Florida law.
  • CPR certification must be current.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with insured vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct physical therapy per PT directions and plan of care.
  • Treats patients to relieve pain and restore function.
  • Assists with active and passive therapeutic exercises, gait and functional training.
  • Uses modalities such as heat, cold, ultrasound, and massage.
  • Maintains treatment notes and updates the patient chart in prescribed time frames.
  • Communicates with the PT and home care team regarding patient status.

Access Nursecare, Inc., is a Medicare Certified Home Health Agency serving Miami-Dade County and Broward County. We are actively seeking to partner with a Physical Therapists Assistant in the Bal Harbour, Aventura, North Miami-Beach, Key Biscayne, Homestead, and Broward areas, who are responsible under the direction of the physical therapist and according to the physician's plan of care for patients at home.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities
  • Provides direct physical therapy according to directions of physical therapist and in accordance with the physician's plan of care.
  • Treats patients to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and maintain maximum performance.
  • Directs and aids patients in active and passive therapeutic exercises, muscle reeducation, gait and functional training, transfer activities and prosthetic training.
  • Utilizes physical agents, including, but not be limited to heat, cold, water, light, electricity, ultrasound and massage.
  • Observes and reports to the physical therapist and the Organization personnel the patient's reaction to treatment and any changes in patient's condition.
  • Instructs patients in care and use of wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes, and prosthetic or orthotic devices.
  • Maintains necessary records; clinical notes and conference notes, which will be incorporated into the patient's clinical record in prescribed time frames.
  • Participates in Organization Home Care Team Members meetings and Organization Inservice Education Program.
Position Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program with either an Associate's degree in science or applied science that is approved by American Physical Therapy Association, Inc.
  • Current certification or license as required by state law.
  • Possesses and maintains current CPR certification.
  • Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state/or organization requirements and is in good working order.
