A PTA assists Physical Therapists in helping patients recover and rehabilitate from illnesses, injuries, or medical events, aiming to restore their functional ability, well-being, and independence.

Qualifications

Job Requirements for Registered Physical Therapists (PTA):

• Current Florida License as a PTA (Physical Therapy Assistant)
• Current CPR certification
• At least one (1) year of experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility preferred

Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Responsibilities of the PTA:

• Provide physical therapy services under the supervision of a physical therapist to promote and maintain health.
• Identify patient care issues to support a physical therapist’s effectiveness.
• Administer treatment programs for patients.
• Assess patient health through interviews, physical examinations, and review of therapy histories.
• Review and interpret patient evaluations and test results to evaluate abnormal conditions.
• Perform therapeutic procedures, including manual exercises and instructing patients in physical activities.
• Assist patients with supportive devices such as crutches, canes, and prostheses.
• Instruct and counsel patients on therapeutic regimens, growth and development, wellness, and health maintenance.
