Job summary

The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Utica is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to support therapists and help residents improve mobility in a full-time role in Utica, NY. Same-day pay is offered, with a pay range of $29-$32 per hour.

The PTA will measure progress, assist with treatment plans, and educate residents on proper exercises to enhance strength and independence. A NY PTA license is required and experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PTA Program.
• Current New York State PTA License.
• Experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist physical therapists in developing treatment plans.
• Measure and record Residents' motor function, strength, and muscle performance.
• Observe Residents and write progress reports.
• Evaluate the ability of Residents to function independently.
• Assist Residents in carrying out prescribed exercises.
• Treat Residents with various techniques, like stretching and massage.
• Help Residents use necessary equipment and devices.
• Educate Residents on how to exercise to strengthen muscles and improve mobility.
• Maintain Resident confidentiality in information processing.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
• Comply with federal, state, and local requirements.
• Contribute to team effort.

• Measuring & recording Residents motor function, strength & muscle performance.
• Assists physical therapists in developing treatment plans.
• Observe Residents and write progress reports.
• Evaluate the capability of Residents to function independently.
• Assist Residents in carrying out specific exercises.
• Treat Residents with varieties of techniques, like stretching and massage.
• Help Residents use necessary equipment and devices.
• Educate Residents how to exercise properly to strengthen muscle & improve mobility.
• Maintain Resident confidence by monitoring confidential information processing.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment.
• Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements.
• Contributes to team effort.
