Overview:

Under the supervision of department management and directly supervised by Physical Therapists, you will provide treatments including therapeutic modalities and interventions. You will also assist with medical records, maintain the department environment, safety, equipment, and support overall department functioning. You will promote advisory services to other team members to enhance patient care. Performs duties under the supervision of the Assistant Director and in accordance with Mercy’s mission, values, and standards.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Associate's degree from an accredited program (or a grandfathered license from the state of practice).
  • Licensure: State of practice Physical Therapist Assistant license.
  • Certifications: Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider card or complete a course within the probation period.
  • Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: General knowledge of treatment principles for various diagnoses.
  • Working Conditions: Patient care may involve heavy lifting, extensive bending, and standing.
  • Equipment Used: Use of office equipment and modalities; physical demands include lifting up to 40 lbs., pulling 60 lbs., gripping 50 lbs., pinching 15 lbs., kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
