Overview:

Under the general supervision of department management and the direct supervision of Physical Therapists, you will provide treatments including therapeutic modalities and interventions. You will also assist with medical records, maintaining the department environment, safety, equipment, and support to improve department functioning. You will promote advisory services to other interdisciplinary team members to ensure quality patient care. This role functions under the supervision of the Assistant Director and involves performing related duties as assigned, in alignment with Mercy's mission, values, and service standards.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Associate's degree from an accredited program (or a grandfathered license from the state of practice).
  • Licensure: State of practice Physical Therapist Assistant license.
  • Certifications: Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider card or completion within probation period.
  • Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: General knowledge of treatment principles for diverse diagnoses.
  • Working Conditions: Patient care may involve heavy lifting, extensive bending, and standing.
  • Equipment Used: May use office equipment and must demonstrate competency with modalities delivery equipment. Physical demands include pushing 40 lbs., pulling 60 lbs., gripping up to 50 lbs., pinching up to 15 lbs., and minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
