Job summary

Community Eldercare Services, LLC is seeking a compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our team on a PRN basis.

You will counsel patients and families, observe progress with the PT, assign exercises, and assist with mobility using walkers and other equipment. You will apply stretching, massage, and other techniques to support pain relief and movement, while helping patients transfer safely in the therapy area.

Qualifications

• Must hold PTA license and be in good standing.
• Experience in outpatient therapy settings preferred.
• Ability to work with patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Counsel patients and families after treatment.
• Observe patients before, during and after therapy and report to the PT.
• Assign and guide patient exercises.
• Use devices to assist movement and reduce pain.
• Apply stretching and massage techniques to treat patients.
• Assist patients moving to and from the therapy area.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Counsel patients and their families on what to do following treatment.
• Observe the patients they are working with before, during and after therapy and report notes to the Physical Therapist.
• Assign specific exercises for the patient and help the patients do these exercises.
• Use devices, such as walkers, and other equipment to help patients regain movement and reduce pain.
• Use a variety of techniques, including stretching exercises and massage, to treat patients.
• Assist patients when moving to and from the therapy area.
