Job Summary

Provides rehabilitation therapy procedures to patients under the supervision of a physical therapist. Assists with patient and caregiver education.

Essential Functions

1. Develops and implements treatment programs to restore maximal function, assessing effectiveness and modifying goals as needed.
2. Documents patient treatments in compliance with department standards, legal, and reimbursement procedures.
3. Instructs and trains other staff, nursing, medical personnel, and students regarding patient needs and rehabilitation services.
4. Participates in process improvement, patient satisfaction initiatives, program development, and marketing activities.
5. Enhances skills through continuing education, participating in competencies, and developing new patient care concepts.
6. Maintains productivity standards as per department guidelines.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree from an accredited physical therapy assistant program.
• State of Michigan LIC-Physical Therapist Assistant upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or ARC within 90 days of hire.
• Michigan driver's license upon hire.
