PT Assistant provides therapy treatment planning, interventions, and discharge planning for a full patient caseload in various settings including acute care, acute rehab, skilled facilities, and outpatient clinics. The role requires demonstrating appropriate communication, professionalism, supervision of support staff (such as aides and volunteers), and compliance with hospital and network policies. The PT Assistant participates in education and teaching activities suited to a novice clinician.

Job Description

Essential Functions

1. Interacts professionally with co-workers, visitors, and other staff, reflecting Jefferson's values.
2. Provides therapy treatment planning, interventions, and discharge planning across multiple settings.
3. Assists patients with prescribed exercises and functional activities; transports and safeguards patients during treatment.
4. Participates in the education, orientation, and preceptorship of new or rotating staff.
5. Maintains effective communication, professionalism, and supervises support staff including aides and volunteers.
6. Maintains accurate patient medical records and departmental paperwork.
7. Supervises exercise programs, leads group exercises, and documents attendance, fees, and safety considerations.
8. Supports departmental activities as directed by the manager or supervisor.
9. Communicates observations and information clearly and promptly to ensure coordinated care and optimal outcomes.
10. Performs additional duties as assigned.

Education: Associates Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.

Experience: At least 2 years of clinical practice required.

Certifications and Licenses: Valid state license as a Physical Therapy Assistant, CPR certification, and an Indirect Supervision License.

Work Shift: Weekend Day shifts (United States).
