Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network, Inc. seeks a Per Diem Physical Therapy Assistant for day shift at the Macungie location. You will support therapists, teach patients exercises, and assist with gait training using crutches, canes, or walkers within a collaborative rehab services team.

You will apply modalities like ultrasound and electrotherapy and document outcomes while ensuring safe, compassionate care per policy and patient needs.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Physical Therapy Assistant required.
• Ability to train and mentor others.
• Per diem scheduling across multiple sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide PT-directed care to restore function and mobility.
• Instruct patients in exercises for mobility, strength and coordination.
• Demonstrate use of crutches, canes, walkers and massage techniques.
• Apply modalities such as ultrasound and electrical stimulation as indicated.
• Complete documentation in accordance with policies and regulations.
• Communicate with supervising PT about patient progress and concerns.
• Select and fit assistive devices for gait training and educate patients.
