Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to provide therapy under the supervision of a physical therapist. You will teach patients exercises for mobility, strength, and coordination, including walking with assistive devices, and demonstrate the use of physical agents and electrotherapy.
Responsibilities include documenting progress, adjusting plans as needed, and collaborating with the supervising PT to optimize patient outcomes.

Provides care under the direction and supervision of a physical therapist. Teaches patients exercise for mobility, strength, and coordination; trains on activities such as walking with crutches, canes, or walkers; teaches massage; demonstrates the use of physical agents and electrotherapy such as ultrasound and electrical stimulation. Measures changes in the patient's performance as a result of the physical therapy provided.
Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
