Overview:

Looking for flexibility and purpose in your work? As aPRN Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)at Mercy, you’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact—on your schedule. Working under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, you’ll help patients of all ages regain strength, mobility, and independence through skilled, compassionate care.

Whether you're supporting a busy day or covering for a teammate, your role is vital to our mission of healing.

What You’ll Do:

  • Deliver hands-on physical therapy interventions including therapeutic exercises, gait training, wound care, and modalities such as ultrasound and electrical stimulation
  • Modify treatment techniques based on patient response, within the scope of the established plan of care
  • Provide age-appropriate care from neonates to geriatric patients, adapting communication and techniques accordingly
  • Document patient progress clearly and promptly, including pain assessments and treatment outcomes
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, therapists, and the care team
  • Support Physical Therapy Aides and help coordinate daily workflow as needed


Qualifications:

    • Education:Associate’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
    • Licensure:Current PTA license in the state of Missouri
    • Certifications:Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
    • Experience:Entry-level candidates welcome; strong communication and clinical skills are key
    • Physical Requirements:Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk for extended periods, and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and reaching
