Job summary

Franciscan Health Lafayette East Campus is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant I for full-time inpatient rehabilitation under the direction of a supervising Physical Therapist. You will implement the plan of care, document progress, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

The role supports patient education, coordination of care, and adherence to hospital policies. New grads are welcome, and a sign-on bonus up to $10,000 is available for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited PTA program.
• 2 years physical therapy experience required.
• Current CPR certification.
• Indiana PTA license/certification as required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Provide treatment to patients prescribed by the physician within PT guidelines.
• Document patient progress and participate in care in collaboration with supervising therapist.
• Coordinate care and communicate with rehab team and outside providers as needed.
• Supervise Rehab Techs and contribute to quality improvement activities.

The Physical Therapy Assistant I is responsible to the Department Director and supervising Physical Therapist, to provide treatment to the patient prescribed by the physician within the guidelines of the Physical Therapy Practice Act, and hospital and departmental policies and procedures. This position implements the plan of care to restore and enhance performance. This position also performs documentation and quality improvement, as outlined in departmental policies and procedures.
