Title: Physical Therapy Assistant

Location: Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center

Department: Physical Therapy - IP

Status: Full Time

Shift: Days (8hr)

Pay Range*: $34.43/hr. - $49.96/hr.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for assisting the physical therapist in providing selected physical therapy services, including but not limited to: treatment implementation and education to adults through geriatric patients.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

  • Provides input to improve department operations, equipment and supply needs.
  • Demonstrates a positive influence and recognizes efforts of others.
  • Participates in patient care based on the physical therapy plan of care established by Registered Physical Therapist.
  • Communicates patient’s status daily with the RPT and discusses necessary modifications to the plan of care, if necessary.
  • Provides physical therapy interventions in a competent manner.
  • Educates others using relevant and effective teaching methods.
  • Produces documentation to support delivery of physical therapy services.
  • Be at work and be on time.
  • Follow company policies, procedures and directives.
  • Interact in a positive and constructive manner.
  • Prioritize and multitask.

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Minimum Requirements

Qualifications/Work Experience:

  • One year of clinical physical therapist experience required. In lieu of this experience, consideration will be made for staff with strong education and associated experiential background.
  • Knowledge of applicable Title 22 regulations, JCAHO standards and Physical Therapy Practice Act regulations.

Education/Licensure/Certification:

  • Current BCLS-C Certification
  • Current California License
