Core Competencies |
- Administers treatment programs or portions thereof as planned and directed by a physical therapist and advances or modifies treatment as designated in the treatment plan
- Communicates with therapist regarding patients progress, performance, concerns, planning needs, and reassessment scheduling.
- Monitors patients responses to treatment and modifies treatment during the session as indicated in collaboration with a PT.
- Assists therapist in preparing home program and discharge plans.
- Maintains records of treatment given, patient response to treatment, progress, and other necessary documentation as directed by the therapist.
- Delivers educational material and training for patients and family members, nursing staff, ancillary staff, and community.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of physical therapy through attendance of seminars, workshops, lectures, individual research, and review of current literature, Shares knowledge with staff through in-services and clinical training.
- Participates in planning and developing of new and existing departmental programs, procedures, and policies as needed.
- Evaluates and makes positive suggestions for change in the environment.
- Adheres to productivity standards established per area.
- Demonstrates a cost conscious attitude in use and ordering of supplies.
- Provides clinical training for physical therapy assistant students.
