A leading healthcare facility is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to treat patients under the guidance of Physical Therapists. Responsibilities include maintaining treatment records, collaborating with healthcare staff, and ensuring patients achieve their rehabilitation goals. Ideal candidates will possess a valid license, strong communication skills, and the ability to interpret technical procedures.
Physical Therapy Assistant - H (Healthcare)
Treat patients as directed by the Physical Therapist. Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes per PT Board regulations. Assist in maintaining the department and participate in patient care and rehabilitation conferences as needed. Help with cleaning and maintenance of the treatment area. Follow physician treatment plans when treating patients. Assist the nursing department with training Restorative Aides. Communicate patient progress, problems, and plans with supervisors and other health team members. Participate in staff training programs. Record treatment changes according to policies and procedures. Instruct patients’ families and nursing staff in maintenance programs and caregiver training in preparation for discharge. Report equipment issues to ensure proper maintenance. Demonstrate positive, effective, and appropriate interactions with patients, families, staff, and colleagues.
Supervisory Requirements: This position is non-supervisory.
Qualifications:
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Must maintain a valid license as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state and meet continuing education requirements. The license must be kept in good standing.
Physical Demands: Frequent standing/walking, occasional sitting, frequent reaching, pushing, pulling, talking, hearing, and frequent tasting/smelling. Ability to exert significant force and perform physical tasks such as climbing, kneeling, and crouching.
Work Environment: Generally low to moderate noise levels. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.
