Under the direct supervision of the Staff Physical Therapist, the Physical Therapy Assistant is responsible for administering physical therapy modalities of treatment.
Core Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for providing treatment as directed by the staff Physical Therapist
- Observe and evaluate treatment effect, discusses observations with staff
- Assess patient pain interfering with optimal level of function or participation in rehabilitation
- Perform components of an appropriate assessment on all patients
- Assists with formulation of a teaching plan
- Coordinates and assists with patient care to ensure patient’s needs are met
- Maintains records pertinent to personnel and operation of the department and accurately reflects condition/status of the patient
- Keeps patient schedule board or book current
- Perform other duties as required.
Education/Experience Requirements
REQUIRED:
Graduate of an accredited college of physical therapist assistant program
Possess a certification from the State of New York
