Job summary

Mercy Hospital St. Louis seeks an experienced Physical Medicine Coordinator to oversee competence and safety in the Inpatient Physical Medicine Department. You will collaborate with leadership and educators to deliver education and improve staff and student competence.

The role emphasizes curriculum development, orientation design, and preceptor mentorship, ensuring adherence to clinical standards while promoting teamwork and patient safety.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of an accredited therapy assistant program (PT/OT).
  • Current state license to practice PTA or COTA.
  • At least 2 years' experience in a hospital acute care therapy setting.
  • Must have a Healthcare Provider card or complete a course within probationary period.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate activities to ensure high quality, safe patient care in Inpatient Physical Medicine.
  • Collaborate with leadership, educators, and content experts to provide educational opportunities.
  • Design orientation programs and mentor preceptors to develop staff competence.
  • Maintain alignment with clinical practices, regulatory standards, and patient care excellence.

Job description

The Physical Medicine Coordinator assumes responsibility for all related activities related to competence in the provision of high quality and safe patient care in the Inpatient Physical Medicine Department. Collaborates with leadership, technical and professional schools, and other content experts/educators to provide educational opportunities and improve student and staff competence.

Position Details
  • Education: Successful completion of an accredited (PT, OT) therapy assistant program.
  • Licensure: Current state license to practice PTA, COTA.
  • Experience: At least 2 years' experience in a hospital acute care therapy setting.
  • Certification: Must have a current Healthcare Provider card or complete a course within their probationary period.
