Mercy Rehab Hospital in Springfield, Missouri is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to support the Physical Therapist in providing patient-centered care. You will perform PT procedures, document progress, and work under supervision to ensure safe, effective therapy for all ages.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Physical Therapist in providing physical therapy and perform prescribed procedures.
• Document patient progress notes and maintain accurate records.
• Safely and effectively deliver therapies as directed by supervising therapist.
• Coordinate workload and provide guidance to the physical therapy aide.
• Address age-specific needs for all patients and treat patients and families with respect and dignity.
• Assess and address pain in accordance with the department's pain management policy.
• Identify and report patient safety issues.

The incumbent shall address appropriately the age specific needs for all patients. The incumbent will treat patients and families with respect and dignity. Patients pain will be assessed and treated according to the departments pain management policy. It is the philosophy of Mercy Hospital to optimize patients' comfort while they are in the hospital. The incumbent will identify and report any patient safety issue when identified. The Physical Therapist Assistant shall provide technical assistance and direction to the Physical Therapy aide and coordinates the workload in the department as directed.
