Job summary

Odessa Nursing & Rehabilitation in Westside, Texas, is seeking a Full-Time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our in-house rehab team. You will provide person-centered care to help residents improve mobility, strength, and quality of life under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.

Candidates must hold a Texas PTA license, be in good standing with regulatory agencies, and have SNF or long-term care experience.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Texas PTA license and be in good standing with regulatory boards.
• Experience in skilled nursing facilities or long-term care preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills mandatory.
• Knowledge of PT treatment practices and documentation requirements.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed physical therapy to relieve pain and improve function.
• Provide PT services under supervision of a PT and relay information to the PT.
• Record and monitor patient progress and adjust plans of care as needed.
• Ensure timely documentation per policies and regulations.
• Attend required rehab director meetings.

Join Our Team as a Full-Time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our in-house team of outstanding professionals. In this role, you will provide person-centered care to help residents achieve positive outcomes and improve their mobility, strength, and overall quality of life.

Your Impact as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)

• Administer medically prescribed physical therapy treatments to relieve pain, improve or restore function, and promote healing

• Provide skilled physical therapy services and interventions in accordance with physician orders under the supervision of a Physical Therapist

• Respond to requests for service by relaying information and referrals to the Physical Therapist

• Implement and modify patients’ physical therapy plans of care under PT supervision

• Measure and record patients’ motor function, strength, and muscle performance

• Monitor patient response to treatment interventions and modify approaches as clinically appropriate in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team

• Provide clinical support and education to patients, family members, and caregivers

• Ensure documentation is completed thoroughly and timely in compliance with company policies and state/federal regulations

• Attend required meetings as designated by the Director of Rehab

What Makes You a Great Fit

• Active and valid Texas Physical Therapy Assistant license

• In good standing with all regulatory agencies and licensing boards

• Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or long-term care experience preferred

• Current knowledge of physical therapy treatment practices

• Experience with Net Health Electronic Documentation System preferred

• Ability to manage patients with varying personalities and needs

• Strong communication and teamwork skills
