South Texas Health System in McAllen, Texas, is seeking a Staff Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) responsible for providing physical therapy services under the supervision of a physical therapist. The PTA will screen patients, educate them and their families, and utilize various modalities for treatment and rehabilitation.
Applicants must have a Texas PTA license or a temporary license along with current BCLS certification. The role may require travel between facilities, and adherence to compliance programs is essential. Responsibilities
Position summary: Staff Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) is responsible for providing physical therapy services under the supervision of a physical therapist in accordance with patients’ plan of care. The PTA will screen patients, educate patients and families, and utilize exercises and physical therapy modalities to treat and rehabilitate persons with medical problems, health‑related conditions, or developmental disabilities that limit their ability to move or perform functional activities. Some travel between facilities and job functions may be required.
Qualifications
Must be able to travel to STHS facilities as needed. Membership in a professional organization is preferred.
