Job summary

Total Care Therapy, a therapist-owned rehabilitation company, is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant with leadership aspirations to oversee the rehabilitation department in Broadview Heights. You will provide skilled PTA services under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist while guiding daily operations and ensuring exceptional resident outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Current PTA license in the state of Ohio.
  • CPR/BLS certification.
  • Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled PTA services under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
  • Deliver therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, transfers and mobility interventions.
  • Monitor patient progress and communicate changes to the supervising PT.
  • Complete timely documentation in the EMR and educate residents on home exercise programs.
  • Collaborate with therapists and interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care.
  • Oversee daily rehabilitation department operations and maintain regulatory compliance.

About the Role

As a Physical Therapist Assistant / Director of Rehabilitation, you will provide skilled physical therapy services while overseeing the daily operations of the rehabilitation department. You'll work closely with your therapy team, facility leadership, and Total Care Therapy leadership to ensure exceptional patient outcomes, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance.

Clinical Responsibilities
  • Provide skilled physical therapy treatments under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist according to established plans of care.
  • Deliver therapeutic exercise, gait training, balance activities, transfer training, and mobility interventions.
  • Monitor patient progress and communicate changes to the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation using the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Educate residents and caregivers on home exercise programs, fall prevention, and safety strategies.
  • Collaborate with Physical Therapists and interdisciplinary team members to provide coordinated, patient-centered care.
  • Maintain a productive clinical caseload while delivering compassionate, high-quality therapy services.
Director of Rehabilitation Responsibilities
  • Act as the main liaison between leadership and the facility.
  • Oversee staff performance and support professional development.
  • Manage administrative and operational tasks across therapy services.
  • Coordinate meetings, training, and events for staff and residents.
  • Maintain communication with residents, families, and leadership.
  • Drive referrals for all disciplines
Qualifications
  • Current State Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) License
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance
  • Previous experience in geriatrics, home health, assisted living, or skilled nursing preferred
  • Previous leadership, supervisory, or Director of Rehabilitation experience preferred, but leadership potential will be considered
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
