We are seeking to fill a full time one year contract position for PTA in a school setting in Somerville, MA.

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to help Students recover from injuries, improve mobility, and enhance their overall physical function. You will play a vital role in providing quality care addressing students mobility goals in a school setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed Physical Therapists in implementing treatment plans/goals for patients.
  • Monitor student progress and report changes to the supervising therapist.
  • Educate students and their families on rehabilitation techniques and home exercise programs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of progress notes.
  • Ensure a safe and clean environment
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize student outcomes.

Experience

  • Knowledge of medical terminology is essential for effective communication within the healthcare team.
  • Experience working with geriatric populations is preferred, particularly in skilled nursing facilities or acute care settings.
  • Familiarity with physical therapy practices
  • Strong understanding of anatomy to assist in developing appropriate treatment strategies.
  • Previous experience in schools will be beneficial for this position.
