Overview:

The Physical Therapist Assistant assists the Physical Therapist in providing physical therapy. The incumbent performs physical therapy procedures and related tasks delegated by the supervising Physical Therapist. They may modify treatment procedures based on patient status within the scope of the established treatment plan and document patient progress notes. The incumbent provides safe and effective physical therapy procedures as directed, addressing age-specific needs for all patients. Respect and dignity are integral when treating patients and families. Pain will be assessed and managed according to department policy. The philosophy of Mercy Hospital emphasizes patient comfort. The incumbent will identify and report any patient safety issues and provide technical assistance and direction to the Physical Therapy aide, coordinating workload as directed.

Qualifications:

• Education: Associate degree
• Licensure: Current license as a Physical Therapist Assistant from the Board of Physical Therapy in the applicable State
• Experience: Entry-level candidates are welcome
• Certifications: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers
