Job summary

Elite Senior Living and Rehabilitation Center is seeking compassionate Physical Therapist Assistants to join our rehabilitation team in Homewood, AL. The PTA will work under a licensed Physical Therapist to implement individualized treatment plans in a subacute rehab setting.

The ideal candidate will be licensed in Alabama, capable of independent work, and able to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to help residents regain strength, mobility, and independence in daily activities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current Alabama PTA license.
• Experience in skilled nursing, subacute rehab, or geriatric rehab preferred.
• Knowledge of therapeutic exercises, transfer techniques, gait training, and mobility interventions.
• Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide PTA treatments under supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, transfers, mobility, and balance.
• Help patients improve walking, endurance, and activities of daily living.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate updates to the supervising PT.

Position Summary

The Physical Therapist Assistant works under the supervision and direction of a licensed Physical Therapist to implement individualized treatment plans and provide therapeutic interventions designed to improve patients' functional abilities, mobility, strength, balance, and overall quality of life.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy treatments in accordance with established plans of care and under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, strengthening, balance, coordination, transfers, and functional mobility.
• Help patients improve walking ability, endurance, and independence with activities of daily living.
• Monitor patient responses to treatment and communicate progress or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Document treatments, patient progress, and clinical information accurately and timely.
• Maintain patient safety and follow infection control and facility policies.
• Collaborate with nursing, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and other interdisciplinary team members.
• Encourage and motivate patients throughout their rehabilitation journey.
• Maintain a professional, compassionate, and positive approach with patients, families, and coworkers.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current and valid Alabama Physical Therapist Assistant license.
• Previous experience in skilled nursing, subacute rehabilitation, or geriatric rehabilitation preferred.
• Knowledge of therapeutic exercises, transfer techniques, gait training, and mobility interventions.
• Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills.
